Let’s start from the beginning. Why use sea moss?

If you are not familiar with this seaweed known as Irish moss, or carrageen moss, then it is about time you searched for it. This food has plenty of vitamins and minerals, along with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agents. You can add it whole, in powder form, or even take it as a pill.

Most people do not know that sea moss contains a large amount of omega 3 fatty acids as well. If you add it as a gel, then it can also aid in cleaning out the mucus and phlegm in your sinuses.

What about the rest of the ingredients?

While the cacao powder and raspberries play a central role in this smoothie, you can also add other things like avocado, cucumbers, flaxseed, almond milk, and dates.

To start with, the cacao powder in this smoothie adds an incredible amount of antioxidants, making your beverage even better. The raspberries, on the other hand, are also rich in fiber, vitamins, and minerals, making them a powerful fruit.

Some will skip the cucumber, and while that is acceptable, this vegetable contains a compound called silica, which can help keep your hair, skin, and nails strong. You may also be skeptical about the avocado, but this fruit gives the smoothie texture and adds healthy fatty acids that your body needs.

Finally, do not forget about the flaxseed, a tiny seed that contains tons of omega 3 fatty acids, and can help reduce cholesterol levels. As for dates, consider them the sugar in this smoothie, only twice as healthy and very nutritious.

Enjoy this smoothie every morning, as a healthy dessert, or as a post-workout snack.
