Ingredients

  • 7 oz kale (preferably baby kale)

  • 1/2 apple (preferably sweet)

  • 1 cup coconut water (preferably unsweetened)

Directions

  • Core and slice the apple
  • Add the apple, kale and coconut water to the blender
  • Blend until smooth
  • Pour into a suitable glass etc.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

  • I recommend that you use baby kale if you can get hold of it. In my opinion, the baby kale gives the smoothie a milder taste.

Of course, you can substitute the baby kale for curly kale. However, if you do, make sure to remove the stalk in the middle. The stalk can be quite stringy.

Most blenders will have problems with chopping the stalk up into small enough pieces. Consequently, your smoothie might not be as smooth as you would like it to be.
