Ingredients

  • 3/4 inch ginger (grated)

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 handful fresh kale

  • 1 banana

  • 1 cup filtered water

  • ice cubes

  • 1 1/2 tbsp sugar (optional)

Directions

  • Add all ingredients to your blender (see note for ginger).
  • Blend until smooth.
  • Pour smoothie into a suitable glass.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

  • Make sure to grate your ginger really finely so you don’t end up chewing on raw ginger bits.
  • I usually use a garlic grater to reduce my ginger to a “paste” consistency.
  • The heat in ginger may vary, so don’t add all the ginger in at once. I usually put in 1/2 to 2/3 of the ginger, blend, and taste.
  • If I feel like a “hotter” smoothie, I will add some more ginger, pulse a few times and taste again.
